Yesterday was the last day of my second exhibition, which was part of Terug naar het Begin festival (Back to the Beginning festival) in the Netherlands.
Me and a few other students each created a concept for an artwork for the festival in just 8 weeks. After that, we had just 2 weeks to really create the artworks themselves. For me, that meant creating an artwork of 2meter (depth) x 2meter (width) x 6meter (height) in just 2 weeks, including a day to drive to Belgium to get 7000 meter glass fiber.
But we did it! The final artworks were stunning. Visitors really loved them, and so did the management of the festival. A lovely day.
I am very grateful for all the help I received from family and friends. Without them, I wouldn't have had enough time (or hands) to create the final artwork.
My artwork was on display in the tower of the church of Huizinge, a small village in Groningen. The church's steward really loves the artwork, so it will stay in the tower for a while, and will be available for visitors.

Concert Exhibition
During the preparations of the second exhibition, I had another exhibition. My first, actually. It was a concert-exhibition, with students from the Conservatory and Art Academy. I made four paintings (in just 2 weeks) to match Antonín Dvořák's Piano Quintet No. 2 (Op. 81). Each of them matches one of the movements of the piece.
You can read more about them in the artists comments underneath each of them.

The object of the game is to checkmate the opponent's king, whereby the king is under immediate attack (in "check") and there is no way to remove or defend it from attack on the next move.

Even my teachers don't know any way to make this. The guys with 30+ years of experience. Yargh.

I came across something rather funny today, as I was searching for 'make object float'. I was trying to find a way to make yet another chess artwork float without any threads. Who knows, maybe it can be done? So anyway, I found a forum where I read this:
How do I go about changing a rigidbody so that

Chess is a two-player board game played on a chessboard, a square-checkered board with 64 squares arranged in an eight-by-eight grid. Each player begins the game with sixteen pieces: one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns.

There's the next stadium! Now I only need some funding to create it in glass or polyester. Or I have to find another material - anyone any idea? The sculpture should be around knee-high or bigger. Maybe even bigger then I am, if I could ever afford that.

There are even fishes that live mostly on land. Mudskippers feed and interact with one another on mudflats and go underwater to hide in their burrows. The catfish Phreatobius cisternarum lives in underground, phreatic habitats, and a relative lives in waterlogged leaf litter.

Bonjour!
I'm back here. After moving twice into another home, having no interwebz for a while and going to Riga once, I'm back. You'll see me react & fave again, and most important: my art will be updated

Congratulations dear!
I wish I could be there... it must be definitely a special experience to be inside that church with your artwork!
The effort was worth it and your presence in the festival will surely be a great thing for your personal experience (and your resume!)
